Central Mauritius is dominated by dramatic volcanic mountains, beautiful waterfalls and lush forests, all surrounded by fertile farmlands producing the islands most important crop and export - sugar cane.
Exciting wildlife with a fascinating history
Mauritius is a relatively young volcano that arose only around 8 million years ago. Because of its geographical isolation, a range of unique plants and animals arose here, the most famous of which is the extinct flightless bird, the Dodo. This strange bird lived in the lush nature of the island, where there were no predators to threaten it, but it did not survive the arrival of people. Sailors discovered the island in the 1600s, and caught large numbers of these birds to provide meat for their long ocean voyages on which fresh supplies were often lacking.
Your tour day by day
DAY 1: DEPARTURE FROM N. EUROPE
Depart in the mid afternoon for Mauritius, stopping over in Dubai.
Naturally all meals and drinks are included on your flight.
DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN MAURITIUS
You will arrive in Mauritius late in the morning. After you have passed through immigration and customs you will be met by your local guide who will drive you to your hotel.
You will spend the next 7 nights in the hotel, on an All Inclusive basis .
DAYS 3 - 8: RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR BEACH HOLIDAY
You have six full days to enjoy your fantastic surroundings. Explore the island’s many attractions, and experience its beautiful nature.
DAY 9: DEPARTURE FROM MAURITIUS
Your fantastic holiday is now drawing to a close, and late in the day you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
DAY 10: ARRIVAL HOME
After a stop over in Dubai you will land back in N.Europe in the early afternoon.

Île aux Cerf
The Île aux Cerfs is a small island off the east coast of Mauritius that covers nearly 100 hectares. The island’s name means “the deer island”, and even though this term is still used, the deer disappeared from the island long ago. Today the island, which offers a wealth of different activities, attracts many visitors because of its beautiful beaches and the good snorkeling in the warm waters of the lagoon’s colourful coral reef. It is also the perfect place to get a real adrenaline kick, as there are watersports of all calibers on offer.

Port Louis
The harbour town of Port Louis is Mauritius’ capital and lies on the north west coast of the island. The most recent census is 2015 revealed that a good 150,000 people live in the city. Port Louis has a wonderful, charming atmosphere and also offers a range of different activities. For example you can visit the Caudan Waterfront district, which offers great shopping, restaurants and a casino. There are also a number of museums in Port Louis, one of the most popular of which is the Blue Penny Museum, which is home to a range of artworks and rare stamps.

Seven Coloured Earth & the Chamarel waterfall
If you really want to discover the true nature of south western Mauritius, then a visit to “Seven Coloured Earth” near Chamarel is an absolute must. The Seven Coloured earth is a fascinating geological phenomenon, created from colour variations created by volcanic rocks cooling at different rates. This formation consists of “dunes” of different coloured soils, that create an almost magical mixture of beautiful colours. Seven Coloured Earth is one of the most popular tourist attractions on Mauritius and covers an area of some 7,500m2. The Seven Coloured Earth is located in a compact area of forest, which helps to make the experience even more spectacular.

Black River Gorges National Park
Black River Gorges National Park was created in 1994 to protect Mauritius’ remaining areas of forest. The park lies in the south western part of Mauritius and covers a total area of 65.74km2, equivalent to over 3% of the total landmass of Mauritius. The park includes the mountain of Black River Peak, the summit of which at 828m above sea level is the highest point on the island. There are a number of good footpaths that will take you to the summit. We recommend you visit here early in the morning as there can often be dense cloud during the middle of the day, which rather spoils the views and the whole experience of being on the mountain.

Le Morne Brabant
Le Morne Brabant is a mountain, 556 meters in height, located on a peninsula close to Le Morne on the south west coast of Mauritius. The mountain is surrounded by beautiful, lush forest, and at the foot of the mountain you can find one of Mauritius’ many exclusive beaches. The mountain, despite its splendid appearance, is perhaps more renowned for its history, which is the reason that it has been placed on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam gardens are truly extraordinary. The gardens can be found just to the north of Mauritius’ capital Port Louis in the Pamplemousse district and are well worth a visit. The entrance price for these beautiful gardens may be very modest, but the gardens themselves are not.
