This is simply the ultimate safari tour - not just in East Africa, but for the whole Continent. During this unique 15 day tour you will experience most of the greatest natural attractions that the fantastic countries of Tanzania and Kenya can offer.
This outstanding East-Africa safari starts out from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The first stop on our adventure is a visit to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Here you can enjoy one of the most magical views in the whole of Africa - the sight of elephants and other big game animals against the backdrop of the snow clad peak of Africa’s highest mountain. We will then continue over the border to Tanzania, in search of the Great Migration.
The route takes us through the country’s outstanding, northern nature reserves and national parks: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti. Here you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the incredible scenery offering everything from lush highlands to nearly endless plains of grass savannah – and there are plenty of wild animals everywhere. You will also have time to get a good impression of the day to day life of the local peoples. Before we cross into Kenya for more safari, we stop off on the shores of Lake Victoria.
After crossing the border back into Kenya we visit legendary Masai Mara Game Reserve, where we can watch the fantastic wildlife and also visit a Masai-village. Finally we make our way back to Nairobi and it will be possible to experience modern city life in the Kenyan capital.
The huge wildebeest and zebra migration in East Africa is one of the most spectacular wildlife spectacles in the world. Up to 2 million animals move across the plains of East Africa, around the center of the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya. It is difficult to exactly predict where the huge herds of animals will be when, as this depends on where the life-giving rains fall, allowing fresh nutritious grass to grow. As we will be visiting both the Serengeti and the Masai Mara on this tour there is a great chance of seeing this impressive spectacle, no matter which time of year you are travelling.
All in all this tour is quite simply the experience of a life time! Please note that the day-to-day programme is only a guide. For practical reasons changes may be made to the programme to ensure you tour is carried out in the best way possible. It is also possible to run this tour so that it both starts and finishes in Arusha in Tanzania.

Read moreThe Big Five is a historic term that comes from big game hunting. It groups together the five animals that were considered to require the most courage and skill to hunt: Elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. The term has been readily adopted by today’s wildlife safaris, on which rifles have been swapped for a camera and animals are only “shot” through a telephoto lens. It is also widely used in the marketing of reserves, camps and lodges, where the “Big Five” can be found, and visitors have a reasonable chance of encountering them.
Read moreMasai Mara and the Serengeti in Tanzania must share the prize for being the most filmed wildlife districts on the whole continent, if not in the whole world. But this is not the only thing they share, they also share a border and more importantly many free roaming animals, of which the great migration of wildebeest and zebra is the most visible. Around July these animals stream into the reserve from the south and fill the savannah’s grasslands with big game animals, and the air with birds of prey. Typically they will leave the Masai Mara again in October, but the precise timing of the migration does vary from year to year, as it depends on where and when the rain fall which allow new, fresh grass to grow.

Read moreThe crater is often described as being like some kind of Noahs Ark, even though the animals can freely wander in and out of the area. It is believed to have the highest density of large wild mammals in the world, one of the reasons for which is because fresh water can be found here all year round. The water comes from a number of springs along the edge of the crater, the largest of which has its source in the neighbouring mountain Olmoti´s crater. This constant supply of water feed a couple of large areas of swamp with freshwater, before it flows into lake Magadi, which is actually extremely salty.
