Ocean Paradise Resort

The Ocean Paradise Hotel is an African style beach hotel on one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, right next to the Indian Ocean and even having Zanzibar’s biggest swimming pool. The hotel lies on Zanzibar’s beautiful north east coast and is set in 6.5 ha tropical gardens and parkland, with direct access to the property’s sandy beach.

Accommodation is provided in circular African style makuti thatched chalets. All rooms and suites have a bathroom, shower, toilet and bidet. Rooms have large French windows giving access to your own balcony facing the sea. The hotel has 98 rooms and 2 junior suites.

The resort has three restaurants, all with good locations. The Ocean Restaurant is on the top floor offers a panoramic view over the resort and the ocean below. The Jahazi Restaurant is next to the swimming pool and the Mawimbi Restaurant is adjacent to the beach. Additionally there are a number of bars.

The hotel offers daily entertainments such as traditional dancers, acrobats, local bands and much more. There are also open air screenings of major sporting events.

The activities available in the hotel include a PADI-diving center, which offers courses for both experienced and new beginners. There are plenty of watersports such as windsurfing, sailing and kayaking plus a range of other offers such as dolphin tours and boat trips. Around the hotel you can play beach volleyball, billiards and table tennis. The hotel often arranges small tournaments in these sports. The hotel’s spa offers a fitness center, jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna, as well as a range of beauty and wellness treatments.

The hotel location is ideal for visiting Stone Town or the Jozani Forest in the Jozani Chwaka National Park, which is home to the red colobus monkey, a species indigenous to Zanzibar and found nowhere else on earth.

The hotel is a 45 minute drive from Zanzibar Airport, near Kiwengwa in the north east, which takes you through a nearly pristine landscape with authentic  African villages.
