Praslin Island

Praslin, which is the second biggest island in the Seychelles, was also called the “The Island of Palms” by early French explorers. Here you can find the rare Coco de Mer palm tree, which produces coconuts up to 26kg in weight.

The whole island has a quiet, peaceful atmosphere as well as having some of the best beaches in the world. The island is green and exotic, and is home to many exciting species of bird and a very friendly and hospitable local population.

Praslin is only 38 square kilometres in size, and there are no large towns on the island, just small charming communities.

Most visitors fly to praline from the main island of Mahé, a trip that only takes around 15 minutes, but it is naturally also possible to sail to the island.
