Serengeti Sopa Lodge

The Serengeti Sopa lodge lies on the crest of one of the Nyarboro Hills, giving a view over the south western part of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. The lodge is perfectly placed for guests wishing to see the Great Migration of wildebeest, during the part of the season they pass close to here.  Also it is only a short drive from two of the Serengeti’s best safari areas, only 45 mins from the Seronera district and a little less to the More Kopjes. Therefore it can be advantageous to bring along a packed lunch and enjoy longer safari drives. From the lodge itself there is a good chance of seeing animals visiting the property’s waterhole.

The lodge’s main building houses the restaurant, which features a large, open dining area, which like the bar area, offers a wonderful open view over the Serengeti, which is especially good from the bar terrace. In contrast to the traditional thatched roofs of most main lodge buildings in East Africa, the Serengeti Sopa lodge has a flat roof, which is often used as a setting for cocktail parties, sundowners or private celebrations. The lodge also has a very attractive swimming pool.

The lodge organises many different activities such as dining in the bush, sundowners with snacks etc.

The property has 69 spacious rooms and 4 two story suites, together offering accommodation for a total of 150 guests. All categories of rooms have a veranda/balcony with good views.

The lodge is 319km, a 7.5 hour drive, from Arusha or a 50 min flight plus a 45min drive to the closest landing strip.
